Our last full week of Year 2 complete and what a great week it has been!

This week, the children impressed us with their imaginative ideas and great inventions when they wrote their own poem 'If I Were in Charge of the World' from flying cars to get around and flying unicorns as pets.  During maths, the children continued to work on our reasoning skills, practising solving more word problems using bar models. The children are beginning to get the hang of breaking each part of the number story into 'chunks' in order to pick out the calculation. Great perseverance skills shown!

During our topic work, the children continued developing their computing and coding skills to design their own code in Scratch Jnr to reinforce their habitat work. We were very impressed with their logical thinking!

More fun was had during out skipping workshops and 2A had a great Golden Ticket Afternoon full of water fun! In addition to this, the children were delighted to watch the Year 6 Leavers' show and had lots of fun and were beaming with pride cheering their Buddies on. We also had time on Friday to make a 'good luck' card and spend some time with our Buddies in the afternoon.

Next week, we have our Leavers' servive at Church on Monday.

Have a lovely weekend,

The Year 2 Team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
