What a wonderful and festive final week we have had in Year 1! 🎄✨

Our week has been full of celebration and togetherness. 1H spent time on Monday celebrating their fantastic Golden Ticket achievement, which the children were incredibly proud of. We also thoroughly enjoyed being together on Christmas Takeover Day, sharing lots of smiles, laughter and festive fun. To finish the week, the children carefully completed their Christmas cards, ready to share with their loved ones.

Year 1 have achieved so much this term and we are extremely proud of them. The children created beautiful spiral artwork inspired by the fireworks of Bonfire Night, represented St Luke’s brilliantly on our school trip to Knowsley Safari Park, and faced all new experiences with curiosity and enthusiasm. Our highlight was our Year 1 church service, where the children confidently and brilliantly performed the story of Christmas – it was a moment to be very proud of.

Next term, we are looking forward to many more exciting learning adventures as we begin our new topic 'Terrific Toys'. We will be learning about toys from the past, exploring the materials they were made from, and comparing them to how toys are designed and made today.

Thank you for your continued support this term. We wish you all a wonderful Christmas and a happy New Year. 🎅🎁
We look forward to seeing you again on Monday 5th January.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
