Happy Easter!

We can hardly believe we’ve reached the end of the Spring Term – the time has flown by! It has been a term full of fun, discovery and fantastic learning experiences for all of our children.

On Monday, we were treated to a wonderful performance from Year 5, which the children thoroughly enjoyed. We were so impressed with their show stopping performance of ‘Star Warts’. There are some budding actors and actresses there.

On Tuesday, we took a lovely walk to church for a beautiful Easter service led by Year 4, giving us a special time to reflect and celebrate together. We didn’t let the rain dampen our spirits and were able to spot the signs of Spring on the way!

Wednesday was all about exploring our children’s special interests. In Pinewoods, Charlie shared his enthusiasm for football and vehicles, while in Sand Dunes, Trudi delighted us with her knowledge and love of butterflies. It was fantastic to see the children so engaged and inspired by each other.

On Thursday, we enjoyed a delightful half hour of singing from Year 3, which brought lots of smiles and a real sense of joy. We spent the rest of the day enjoying the spring sunshine.

To finish the week on Friday, we reflected on our learning about the number 11. The children have become real experts – confidently making 11 in different ways and knowing exactly where it belongs on the number line. We have also enjoyed consolidating our Set 2 sounds this week. The children are very enthusiastic about using these in their reading, so please do continue to practise over the Easter break.

We are so proud of everything the children have achieved this term!

Have a wonderful Easter break! Please don’t forget to share your good news with us by emailing [email protected] – no matter how big or small, we love to celebrate it with you.

Take care,
The Reception Team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
