How is it possible to leave work with paint in your hair?

45 enthusiastic paintbrush wavers, that’s how! The children have loved their final hurrah and their ‘Book in a box’ all look fabulous! The care and concentration some of the children have poured into their projects has been absorbing to watch.  We are almost at the end of our weaving journey too. All the children have designed their final bookmark and the embroidery thread is ready and waiting for them on Monday. We can’t wait to see the finished piece. Every reader needs a bookmark.

Talking about reading, we have really enjoyed sharing the children’s favourite stories and information books in class. Please continue to send any texts into school, that motivate your children. We are all off on an adventure to Australia next week, inspired by a fabulous book about a Koala – Thanks Alba!

In RE this week, we continued to explore the concept of special places – places that hold a special meaning for us, and also, places that hold deep religious importance to people in the community. We took a virtual tour around a mosque and discussed why Muslims choose to take their shoes off to worship.

The end of the week came around all too quickly and we finished on a high, spending some time with our buddies. The children in Year Four were excited to share all their tales of their residential trip with their young friends. It will be Reception’s turn in the blink of an eye!

Enjoy the weekend everyone, and we look forward to all those smiling faces on Monday morning. Take care!

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
