Happy Friday, everyone!
We can’t quite believe it’s nearly the end of term. Just two little days to get through and the children have completed their first year of primary school. We are so incredibly proud of them all and they should be super proud of themselves.
On Monday we welcomed our last experts of the year, Heidi taught us all about her love of dogs and her gorgeous German Shepard Luna. And Nelly taught us all about her expertise in helping Nanny sell clothes in a clothes shop. We have absolutely loved getting to know your child’s interests this year, we know the Year 1 team will be just as excited to learn about your children as much as we!
On Tuesday we chatted about Year 1 and how we can continue to be kind and good friends to each other. The children learned about the Bible story of Ruth and Naomi (in the Old Testament book of Ruth) is often used to illustrate the qualities of good friendship. ‘Ruth finds a new home’ Ruth remained with Naomi when it would have been easy to leave. She went with her to live in a foreign place and take care of her. Ruth was a faithful and loyal friend.
We had so much fun on Wednesday, our golden ticket celebration was a huge success. The children arrived at school in some of the most amazing outfits, showcasing their love for characters and even their future aspirations. In the afternoon, the children enjoyed a snack and a film before heading outside for a skipping workshop with Mr. Murphy. We learned the fundamental skills needed to master skipping as we grow up. The perseverance shown by the children was so pleasing to see, how they carried on going even when it was tricky and showing so much resilience when it could have been raised to quit.
On Thursday we were treated to an amazing show from our Year 6 friends. Their leavers performance was incredible and we watched the whole way through applauding and signing along. We are so proud of them and look forward to seeing what awards are given out on Monday when we walk to church for the last time this year.
On Friday, it was the long awaited ‘break the rules day’ - the children were ecstatic and rightly so… juice in water bottles, own clothes day, treats for snack and even tattoos and nail varnish!! What was not to love? Take a look through all of our photos below, we’ve had a busy week.
We love hearing about all the great things the children are doing outside of school. Please keep sending us your good news – big or small – so we can celebrate it together in class. Email us at [email protected]
