Date: 8th Mar 2024 @ 1:06pm

This week in English, we have been writing our own version of freedom, a book about an enslaved boy called Nat. It is a very important and interesting topic that we should never forget.

Also this week we have been celebrating world book day by wearing our favourite characters costumes and taking photos of us reading in weird and wacky places.

In PE, we have been learning new skills in handball, by practising throwing, catching and dribbling. We have also observed olympic handball games.

In RE, we have talked about racism and the true meaning and impact of it, and what each religion thinks about it.

In science, we have been learning about adaption and survival of the fittest. The way that animals changed to survive in their habitat, It is a very fascinating topic to learn about.

In maths we have been learning about angles, we have been using protractors and the differences between each angles.

School Council London trip!

This week, members of the school council at St Luke’s Primary went on a trip to the great big city of London. We were accompanied by Mrs Cowey, Mrs Edger, Mrs Dwan and Mrs Madigan. Whilst we were there, we got a tour of Parliament and had the chance to do a workshop where we met Bill Esterson (Formby's MP.) Additionally, we got to see some of London's famous landmarks such as: the River Thames, Big Ben, and the London Eye! Overall, it was a great experience and we learned a lot of new things linked to our British Values.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
