Year 5 Blog 6/2/26

Date: 6th Feb 2026 @ 3:51pm

Another successful week rounded off with a brilliant NSPCC number day! The children looked fantastic in their numerical attire. They also enjoyed a Buddy's key activity rooted in a host of key maths skills, as well as a TTRockstars NSPCC competition.

This week they have completed 3 out of 5 of our Spring term assessments and have given their all. We are proud of the effort each child has put in.

For English, the children are now fully planned and ready to get writing their adaptation of The Nowhere Emporium. Their writing will take shape over 2 days next week.

In Maths, we draw close to the end of our multiplication and division with next week putting the metaphorical cherry on top.

The children have also had their final Brass lesson before the concert next week. We look forward to welcoming the parents, guardians and others to enjoy a symphonic delight!

We hope you have a fantastic weekend and look forward to next week.

The Year 5 Team.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
