Year 5 Blog 28/11/25

Date: 28th Nov 2025 @ 3:46pm

What a busy week we have had. The children have worked very hard throughout.

In English, we have completed our write up of our Mars Transmission. They have produced some excellent work, full of wonderful descriptive words, as well as similies, euphemisms and informal speech to bring their work to life.

For Maths, we have come to the end of our Multiplication and Division unit for this half term, finishing with Cube numbers and methods for factorising multiplications to help build fluency in their mental maths.

Our Geography work has seen an introduction to Latitude and Longitude as well as timezones.

Science built an understanding of gravity, recognising that it is a pull force.

We look forward to beginning our D&T projects next week.

Have a fantastic weekend.

The Year 5 Team.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
