Year 5 Blog 21/11/25

Date: 21st Nov 2025 @ 3:36pm

A whirlwind of a week comes to a close. Autumn's assessment week has been full of challenge and we are so proud of the effort that the children have put in.

Aside from the assessments, we have continued exploring our topic of Space, grasping an understanding of why we experience nighttime and daytime. A huge thank you to Harry in 5W for the fantastic lego model he brought in to demonstrate the movement of the earth around the sun.

Our Mars transmission build up progresses nicely, having looked at personification and metaphor to bring our writing to life. We are excited to get on to the writing next week.

PSHE on families and relationships draws to a close this week and we shall be picking up Design and Technology next week.

We hope you have a fantastic weekend and will see you next week.

The Year 5 Team.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
