Year 5 Blog 10.10.25

Date: 10th Oct 2025 @ 3:36pm

Another successful week was had in year 5.

Our week started with a wonderful Harvest service delivered by year 3 which we were able to spend some time with our buddies in year 1. Year 5's confidence in leading their buddies is growing rapidly.

In English we have started our Pok-a-Tok instruction build up writing. Looking at writing for the purpose of instruction.

For Maths we wave Au revioir to place value and welcome in Addition and Subtraction next week. I believe the children could make a triangle round with the amount of rounding we have done.

Some of our year 5 have just taken part in a very successful Hockey tournament, placing top of our group and being pipped at the post in our final match. Their teamsmanship playing against some well established teams was inspiring to see.

We hope you have a lovely weekend.

The year 5 team.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
