Year 4 Blog 9.5.25

Date: 9th May 2025 @ 12:35pm

We have had a shorter but busy week in Year 4.

In Maths, the children have been looking at converting units of time. They have been converting hours to minutes and months to weeks.

In PSHE the children have been discussing tobacco, in order to understand the risks of smoking and the benefits of being a non-smoker.

In RE, the children have been looking at what it means to be a Hindu in Britain today.

In Art, the children are exploring how art work is displayed.

In PE the children have continued their athletics lessons, improving their high jump and long jump techniques.

To celebrate VE day on Thursday, the children looked great in their red, white and blue and enjoyed learning about VE Day and why it's such an important part of history. To help bring the past to life, pupils visited the school’s makeshift VE Day museum, where they explored artefacts, photos, and stories from 1945.

Congratulations to this week's superstars: -

Many thanks again for supporting your child’s learning.

The Year 4 Team.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
