Year 4 blog 3.10.25
Date: 3rd Oct 2025 @ 1:17pm
Thankfully we have had lots of dry sunny days to enjoy our busy week, before the rainy end to the week!
In Maths, the children have been looking at 4-digit numbers and have been adding 1, 10, 100 and 1000 to change the value. They have also been working out the intervals on number lines.
In English, the children have continued being tour guides. They are expertly explaining the various parts of the water cycle, as if they were giving a guided tour. They have used super language in their writing, with lots of description to add detail.
In Geography, we have been using atlases to identifying world rivers on a map. The children also enjoyed identifying the continents and the oceans.
In Science, the children have been investigating condensation. They observed 3 cans of Pepsi. One at room temperature, one from the fridge and the third from the freezer. They predicted and observed what happened when a paper towel was placed around each can.
In Art, the children have been using charcoal and chalk. They have used language from our text, A River, as a stimulus to make marks in their concertina books. They used the techniques they have learned previously to created textured pictures.
In RE, the children have been considering if Jesus was inspiring because of his actions? They have also been thinking about people who inspire them.
The children loved their first proper meet up with their buddies, before they walk to church to listen to Year 3’s Harvest Service on Monday.
Well done to our Weekly Superstars: 4C: Oliver and Alex 4M
Many thanks again for supporting your child’s learning.
