Year 4 blog 26.4.24

Date: 26th Apr 2024 @ 1:26pm

Year 4 have had another great week and luckily the sun has been out to make our playtimes brighter.

In English, the children have been sentence stacking their thoughts and ideas based on the text ‘Secrets of a Sun King’. They are gathering lots of description and vocabulary ready to write a diary entry.

Also, this week Year 4 were treated to a singing visit from Ex Cathedra, who are teaching them a selection of super songs.

In Maths, they have been ordering decimals, rounding decimals, and writing fractions as decimals.

In Art, the children are looking at how art work can be displayed. They discussed and explored how a plinth is used to help show an art piece.

In PE, they continued working on their Egyptian dance. The children worked in groups of 4 to develop ways of showing the strained movements of the slaves, when building a pyramid.

The children all looked very smart for their annual class photographs on Thursday.

Congratulations to this week's superstars: -

Many thanks again for supporting your child’s learning.

The Year 4 Team.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
