Year 4 Blog 25.4.25

Date: 25th Apr 2025 @ 12:12pm

We have definitely got into the swing of the Summer term in Year 4.

In History, the children had a great start to their Ancient Egyptian topic with a visit from Mr Egypt. He brought the whole period in history to life for the children and certainly gained their interest!

Our English is based on a text that unfolds ancient Egyptian discoveries - Secrets of a Sun King. The children are enjoying getting to know the characters.

In Maths, the children have been working with subtracting fractions with the same denominator.

On Friday, the children were very excited to watch a production of The Jungle Book. They were well and truly mesmerised by the characters.

In PE, the children have been enthusiastically practicing their sprinting techniques.

Congratulations to this week's superstars: -

We hope you all had a lovely Easter holiday break.

Many thanks again for supporting your child’s learning.

The Year 4 Team.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
