Year 4 Blog 19.9.25

Date: 19th Sep 2025 @ 1:26pm

Thankfully, we’ve had a generally warm, sunny week and the children have enjoyed their playtimes with their friends. They also got to meet their buddies, when they were having a tour of their new school.

In Maths, the children have been making number patterns, looking closely at the value of each digit within 3- and 4-digit numbers and the intervals on number lines.

In English, we have continued looking at ‘The River’ poem and the children have been generating super language to write their own imaginative verses.

In science the children have been identifying the properties of solids, liquids and gases.

In PE they have continued to develop their throwing and dodging skills in dodgeball and their swimming skills.

In Geography, the enjoyed looking at the course of the River Mersey, and identifying some landmarks.

Well done to our Weekly Superstars: 4C: Harry and Lottie 4M

Many thanks again for supporting your child’s learning.

The Year 4 Team.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
