Year 4 Blog 10.10.25

Date: 10th Oct 2025 @ 11:55am

We’re getting close to the end of our first half term in Year 4! The children are still going strong! They have all definitely shown a great attitude towards their learning.

In Maths, the children have been estimating numbers on a number line.

In Art, the children have continued working on their concertina booklets. In their booklet, they have been completing charcoal sketches, using vocabulary from the River book as a stimulus.

In English, they have been busily planning and writing their tours, explaining the water cycle. They are developing some super, descriptive build up writing.

In RE, the children have continued considering whether Jesus was inspiring because of his actions. The children discussed their thoughts in great detail. They also enjoyed working in groups to re enact the story of Feeding the 5000.

In Science, the children have been investigating temperature. They observed 3 containers of water. One was room temperature, one was ice water and the third was put boiling water. They predicted what they thought would happen, and then observed what happened to the temperature of each container every 5 minutes, for 20 minutes. .

The children enjoyed walking to church in the sunshine with their buddies on Year 3’s Harvest assembly.

Well done to our Weekly Superstar: 4C: Nathan and Ralph 4M

Many thanks again for supporting your child’s learning.

The Year 4 Team.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
