Home Learning

Welcome to our Year 4 Home Learning section.

All of the children will come home on Friday with their blue home learning book. The current half term's home learning grid will be stuck in for them. The format is the same as last year when they choose one task from each row (creative, family, writing/speaking/listening and research). The children need to record their work as neatly as they would do in class, into their Home Learning book.

If it is a 'non recording' piece of home learning, then please follow the instructions for each task and highlight it on the Home Learning grid. Please add the date and a title to each entry. Photos can be printed off and stuck in the book. Please feel free to take a photograph of any creations that are too big or not suitable to be brought into school, and stick it in your child's home learning book.

You will find have any passwords that can help your child access learning platforms at home ( IDLspelling and maths, TT Rockstars etc... ) stuck onto the inside of the back cover of their Home Learning books. This will allow them to have everything they need in one place.

Maths: In addition to the home learning grid, the children may also be set a piece of maths home learning. These will be found below. The worksheets are differentiated by 1,2 or 3 stars, please only complete one of these.

Spelling:  We will post 6 of the Year 3 and 4 ORANGE words that we are working on in class, but If these are too tricky to spell, then please ensure that your child can read them and use them in a sentence, to fully understand their meaning. You can also access the Year 1and Year 2 high frequency word lists in the home learning files.

We are looking forward to a successful Autumn  term of Home Learning and sharing in all that you are doing at home.

WEEKLY HOME LEARNING TASKS:

General information-

When completing your home learning, remember to neatly lay out your workings out.

Knowing your times tables is an important aspect of maths and TT Rockstars is always available to access to brush up on your skills. The studio section is a good way to practise for the Y4 times table check that will take place in June. Doodle Learning, also helps!

If the maths home learning is in worksheet format, then it can either be printed off and written on before being stuck it into the home learning book, or the answers can be written straight into the home learning book.

If there are any concerns then please let us know using the yr4@slf.sefton.school email address.

Many thanks,

Mrs Cocks, Mrs Wilson and Miss Murdock

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
