Year 4 Blog 6.5.22

Date: 6th May 2022 @ 2:05pm

We’ve had another busy week in Year 4.

In English, the children continued to look at the nonsense poem by Spike Milligan called ‘On the Ning Nang Nong’. They have generated rhyming words of their own and developed ideas using syllable patterns, in order to create their own version of the nonsense poem.

In Maths, the children have continued working with Time. They have been using their understanding of time to solve problems.

In Science the children worked with partners to generate lots of different grouping for living things

In Art, they creatively used clay and a variety of sticks, twigs and straw in order to produce their own interpretation of a bird nest.

They were lucky to have taster lesson with a cricket coach, helping them to develop their throwing techniques, ready for their cricket lessons next half term.

4W enjoyed their final dodgeball session and 4C continued with their yoga breathing and also learnt some yoga poses.

Congratulations to this week's superstars: -

4C: Mila    4W: Faye

Many thanks again for supporting your child’s learning.

The Year 4 Team.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
