Year 3 blog - 12.11.21

Date: 12th Nov 2021 @ 2:14pm

12.11.21

On Thursday we really enjoyed watching our friends in Year 6 deliver a very moving and thought-provoking Remembrance Service. This led to plenty of discussions surrounding how very fortunate we are to live in a world where we are free to choose how we live. The brave service men and women, who have fought for our freedom plus every individual affected by the current unrest throughout the world remain in our thoughts today and always.

Some children will have an additional piece of maths homework sent home this weekend. We are moving onto multiplication and division next week so would really appreciate the children spending some time practising their addition and subtraction (with renaming / regrouping) skills before we begin our next focus. Encourage your child to double check the operation to avoid any silly mistakes.

Please remember that we have our trip to the cinema on Thursday 18th November 2021. We will be leaving school at 9.00am and we will be back in time for lunch. The children are welcome to bring a small bag of popcorn or sweets to enjoy with the film. Please ensure that there are no nuts included in any snack.

Friday 19th November is Children in Need. You will have received a Spider message detailing all the fun activities we have planned for next week. A donation of £2 will ensure that your child gets a piece of toast each morning should they choose, a fun packed morning of games on Friday and the donation will also cover mufti day.

Have a great weekend and stay safe.

The Year Three team x

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
