Year 3 blog - 12.2.21

12.2.21

And just like that we have reached the end of the half term. It has been the most challenging half term that we have ever had and we are beyond proud of the way you have adjusted and embraced this new way of learning. You have all shown such resilience and done your personal best and we can’t thank you all enough. You have all got up every day, logged on and together we have worked our way through this new and wonderful world of Google Classroom. A big thank you to all of the people who have helped you at home – Mummies, Daddies, Grandparents, big brothers and sisters……the list is endless and you have all been fantastic. As a reward you can have a whole week off!!! 😊

During the half term we are still under lockdown meaning there isn’t very much for us to do. However, if you’re looking for something different to do on your daily exercise why not come and walk St Luke’s Church’s Lost Sheep Trail (Saturday 13th Feb to Sunday 21st Feb inclusive)?

Aimed at families with primary aged and pre-school aged children, this free trail starts at the gate of St Luke’s Church on St Luke’s Church Road. There you’ll find the first sheep with a QR code for more instructions.

There’ll be a trail laid around the parish to find 10 lost sheep in total. Bring a smart phone as the sheep all have a QR code on their bellies which you’ll need to access the trail map and also the sheep fun facts or videos at each one, including a little link to the Bible story of the Lost Sheep. You’d be baarking mad to miss it!

For more details, please contact revmattdavis@gmail.com or message the church Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/StLukesChurchFormby

Enjoy your break and we are hoping so much that we will be welcoming you all back to school at some point during the next half term – we are missing you all so, so much! However, until Boris gives us the go ahead, we will be here at 9:30, Monday 22nd February ready to start our new topic – Around the World in 25 Days! See you then.

Lots of love,

The Year 3 Team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
