Year 2 Weekly Blog (7. 5. 21)

Date: 7th May 2021 @ 9:29am

This week, the children have been getting busy in the school garden.  All of the children helped to weed the raised beds and prepare them for planting; thankfully, the weather was beautiful and sunny on Wednesday, and we were all able to enjoy the sunshine and fresh air.  There were lots of muddy hands and all the children really enjoyed getting stuck in using the gardening equipment and learning how best to prepare soil for sowing and planting.

Mrs Groom brought in a variety of fruit and vegetable plants for the children to plant into the raised beds: strawberry, courgette, peas, cabbage, lettuce and beans were all carefully placed into the beds, and hopefully will thrive over the forthcoming months.

The plants have all had a good water of the past few days since we planted them, so hopefully we will get some sunshine over the weekend to

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
