Year 2 Weekly Blog (26. 11. 2021)

Date: 26th Nov 2021 @ 12:06pm

This week, the children have really started to practise the Nativity - and on Thursday afternoon we completed our first full 'run through' of the play from the start to the end.  The children loved being able to see what all their friends will be doing in the play, and we loved hearing them singing along to all of the songs.  We were all really impressed with the children who had learned their lines over the weekend - not only did they know what they have to say in the play, but also knew when they are supposed to say their line during their particular scene, and also delivered their line with a clear and confident voice.

During the week, the children have been very busy learning more about Thanksgiving, and finishing off their very colourful Diwali elephants which they took home for you to admire as well!  The children have also thought about imperative verbs and time connectives during their English lessons, using these to write some very detailed instructions for how to create a Diwali elephant.

Next week, the children will be continuing to practise their play and on Monday morning, the stage will be up for them to get a real feel for what it will be like when they are performing for their friends, family and the rest of the school.

We hope that you have a nice weekend, and we look forward to seeing you all on Monday morning!

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
