Year 1 Blog 20.5.22

Following our visit to the woods, our creative juices were flowing and we produced our own images of the forest at night. We listened to sounds of the forest, as we worked, which resulted in a fabulous array of forest scenes. We also took time to think about edible plants and discussed which ones would be described as fruit or vegetables. The children were fascinated to learn that rhubarb is classed as a vegetable.

Thank you for the homework we have received around this topic. We have enjoyed some spectacular Enchanted Gardens, multi media trees and tree hunts. The thoughtful traditional tale clues have kept us guessing too! Our runner beans continue to thrive, and thanks to a donation, we now have some tomatoes plants too. We look forward to watching them all grow.

Next week, we continue our focus on plants and spend time comparing and contrasting them. We will also continue working with our Bee-Bots, creating algorithms and debugging as we go. So much to look forward to. Have a lovely weekend.
