Y4 Weekly Blog (12. 10. 18)

Wow! This half term seems to have flown with just 4 days left of the half term to go.

This week we have been busy planning, drafting and editing our river poems. All of the children have enjoyed the freedom of poetry writing and have included lots of imagery in their work.

We enjoyed our annual trip to church to celebrate Harvest, led brilliantly by our Yr 3’s. It was lovely to see the children interacting to well with their Reception buddies and chatting about things that we are thankful for.

In art, the children have been continuing to learn about the technique of pointillism. The children should be able to explain this to you, and even create a picture at home to share with their class.

In games, we have seen some super progression in the children’s netball and football skills and they have enjoyed working well as teams during small sided games.

The children certainly enjoyed themselves in Science this week with the hotly awaited ‘Water cycle song’ making it onto the timetable!  If the family would like to join in, then search for Go noodle water cycle song and you can sing and dance along, learning as you go!

In maths, we have been looking at exchanging in addition, and have just begun studying subtraction (finding the difference) when you need to exchange for e.g. 1 ten for 10 ones, or 1 hundred for 10 tens, or 1 thousand for 10 hundreds. Please support your child with both this and their x tables.
