A big welcome back to our final half term of the school year! We can't quite believe we are this point already. The children have returned and are beyond excited for our new topic 'The Romans are Coming!' We have already introduced the topic, learnt about Boudicca and begun a dance in PE based on the Roman army. So much to learn, so little time!

A big thank you to all those who have contributed towards our DT fund. The wood has been ordered, the glue guns are fully loaded and we are raring to go. We are looking forward to designing, making and evaluating our Roman chariots that we are sure will be fit for an Emperor (or at least a barbie/action figure!)

Just a quick heads up - we will be having a Roman day in school towards the end of the half term. On this day the children are allowed to come to school dressed as a Roman soldier, Goddess, Emperor, Celt etc  Please do not spend a lot of money. We have found in the past a bed sheet with crown and belt have made super costumes for a Goddess as have leggings, jumper and a belt for a Celt.

Today your child has come home with the new home learning grid for this half term's homework. It is based all around our new topic and will really enhance the children's learning. Attached are also the first set of year 3 orange words. These take the place of the Year 1/2 CEW. Lots of the children are now in a place to begin learning these however, if your child is not quite at this point, please continue with the Year 1/2 words.

As always, thank you for your support.

Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy the forecasted sunshine.

The Year 3 Team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
