Superheroes to the rescue!

What a great first week back! The children really seem to be enjoying the topic ‘Superheroes!’ We have seen some of the fantastic superhero designs and fact files. Remember to send some photos of your child’s work to y2@slf.sefton.school . We really do enjoy seeing the children’s hard work and creative ideas.

We are really looking forward to seeing the children return to school on the 8th March. The Year 2 team are currently planning some welcome back activities to help settle the children back into the school routine. The focus for the first couple of weeks will be ensuring the children feel safe and happy in school, and are ready to learn. Unfortunately, Mrs Groom will be shielding till March 31st but luckily for us the lovely Mrs Benson will be returning to teach 2G for the rest of this half term.

As part of the Superhero topic we will be having a year 2 ‘Superhero Day’ on Friday March 19th where the children can come to school dressed in a superhero costume. We understand the difficulties and expense of shopping at the moment so please don’t worry if you haven’t got a suitable outfit. The children can wear bright colours or a superhero t – shirt/ pyjamas.

Many thanks for your continued support!

The Year 2 team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
