What a fantastic week we have had!

With Christmas fast approaching we have enjoyed learning all about the Nativity. Inspired by our fantastic Year 2 friends and their show stopping performance! The children have had the opportunity to dress up as Mary and Joseph, wise men, shepherds and angels, to act out the Nativity in our role play stable.

The pretend post box in our classrooms have been a huge hit this week, with lots of children taking the time to write and design cards for their friends. We have loved decorating our own classroom trees and have sung lots and lots of Christmas Carols.

On Tuesday we were introduced to the number 10 using the number 10 Numberblock. The children have been fantastic learning lots of different things about the number 10, we will continue to learn more after the Christmas break. See if you can use small toys or sweets to make your own number bonds to 10. We have been learning lots of ‘red words’ over the last few weeks in Reception, if you don’t have these at home please speak to your child’s class teacher.

A busy, busy day on Wednesday! The children enjoyed breakfast with Santa and their very own Christmas dinner made by our fabulous kitchen staff. Enjoy looking through our photographs below.

On Thursday, our lovely site manager Mr. Gary made it snow in the ROLA, the children had an amazing time and we wished for real snow on Christmas day!

Remember it is our Reception Christmas party day is on Monday – children can come to school in their party clothes but please ensure they are still wearing a suitable, waterproof coat and sensible shoes for playtimes.

Have a great weekend everybody,

The Reception Team :)

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
